Located 1 mile from the Red River Gorge in Pine Ridge KY between Mt. Parkway Exit 40 East and Exit 40 West and 8 miles to Natural Bridge State Park. The Kilns provides an area for rest and relaxation for those wanting to camp. while enjoying the outdoors. The KILNS got its name from large charcoal kilns that was a thriving family business in the late 50's early 60's. Although they are no longer in functioning, they are part of our history. The camping area is nestled on a small family farm with 5 acres designated for PRIMATIVE Tent or Van Camping. The property is surrounded by beautiful woodlands and a lush green field, freshly manicured. It is easy access to Red River Gorge, Local Restaurants, General Stores all while secluded from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Come relax and enjoy, we look forward to seeing you! Beautiful and friendly site
This site is a big field that is used as an outdoor music venue, and when there are no gigs it is used for hipcamp. It is a beautiful setting. The campground is dispersed with a pond to one end. We had the place to ourselves and pitched our camp by the stage area with its twinkling lights. However there are multiple sites down behind the pond. There is a big communal fire pit and ample free firewood. Facilities are basic, a couple of portapotties and a potable water pump. The sunset was beautiful and we sat and cooked dinner listening to the frogs and birds. Very relaxing. The hosts met us as we arrived as we were asked to message as we got close. They showed us the enormous pile of free firewood and showed us the location. Very friendly and welcoming. We were only there one night on a roadtrip but the area is full of hikes and areas to explore. This area of Kentucky doesn’t get the attention it deserves with its own Arches to explore and an underground kayaking experience in a flooded mine. It is well worth a few days visiting.

New Favorite Camping Spot!
This was the best camping trip we've ever had. Kim is a wonderful host and now a new friend! They were so friendly and accommodating and the location can't be beat. Already looking forward to our next trip out there. They even made sure we had dry wood and gave us a list of things to do. It really couldn't have been any better!!

Nice quiet spot near red river gorge. Great place to stay and wonderful host. There are frogs but my wife and I enjoyed thier chirps.

Beautiful grounds and amazing hosts
We had a wonderful time!!! The grounds are very pretty and the hosts are awesome and kind. We camped by the pond and happened to see the northern lights on our trip! Firewood was provided and there are clean ports potties.

I loved camping here and had a great stay. Host was welcoming and answered any questions that I had. Will definitely be coming back to camp here again.
